The symposium is part of the public programme of the exhibition I See That I See What You Don’t See which will be open in Rotterdam after it closes at the XXII International Triennale di Milano. The opening follows the conclusion of the symposium, at 19:00.

Ramon Amaro

Ramon Amaro is a lecturer in the Department of Visual Cultures at Goldsmiths, University of London and a researcher in the areas of machine learning, the philosophy of mathematics, black ontologies, and philosophies of being. Ramon Amaro completed his PhD in Philosophy at Goldsmiths and is a former research fellow of Het Nieuwe Instituut. He contributed to the Dutch Pavilion at the XXII Triennale di Milano with Darkness, as a First Act of Creation.

Helga Schmid

Helga Schmid is a London-based artist and designer. She is the founder of Uchronia, a platform for critical and imaginative thought on our contemporary time crisis, challenging current perceptions and offering alternative ways of being in time. Helga Schmid is a resident at Somerset House and senior tutor at the Royal College of Art in London.

Leanne Wijnsma

Leanne Wijnsma is a designer and researcher. Her work uses instinct as design, exploring the relationship between freedom and technology through smell design and subterranean explorations. Its immersive nature lends itself to an investigation in to human awareness and the impact of new technologies on individual and collective behaviour. She contributed to the Dutch Pavilion at the XXII International Triennale di Milano with Wildlife.

Marjolijn Dijkman

Marjolijn Dijkman is based in Brussels and is an artist and co-founder of Enough Room for Space. Her works can be seen as a form of science – fiction; partly based on facts and research but often brought into the realm of fiction, abstraction and speculation.
